Flowtica is a product concept for managing documents, versions, tasks and collaboration in one place.
Because the document might be in the right folder.
The feedback about it?
Good luck.

You know the folder. Someone sent the first version by email. Someone commented on it in chat. The updated file is on a colleague’s computer. There’s a task related to it somewhere.
And nobody is completely sure which version is actually the current one.
That’s the kind of everyday chaos Flowtica was imagined to clean up.
Put the document in the middle.
Most work around a document doesn’t happen inside the document itself.
There are conversations about it.
Changes.
New versions.
Things someone needs to fix.
Things someone else needs to approve.
So instead of treating a document as just another file sitting inside a folder, Flowtica would make it the center of everything connected to it.
One document. Everything around it.

This document has things to do.
One of our favorite ideas for Flowtica was bringing task management directly to individual documents.
See something that needs changing?
Create a task.
Need someone else to take care of it?
Assign it.
Come back later and see what still needs to happen without searching through a separate project-management tool for the context.
The task and the thing the task is actually about stay together.
Because “fix page 7” makes considerably more sense when page 7 is right there.

Which version?
Another problem we wanted Flowtica to solve was the endless trail of files created as work progresses.
Instead of saving another copy, renaming it and hoping everyone knows it’s the newest one, versions could live under the same document.
One place.
One history.
The latest version where you'd expect it.
No archaeological expedition through your Downloads folder required.

Work on it together.
Documents rarely belong to just one person.
Flowtica was imagined around teams being able to keep the work surrounding a document together too.
Upload it.
Organize it.
Comment on it.
Create tasks.
Add a new version.
Continue working.
Instead of having the document in one place and the entire conversation about it scattered across five others.
Less searching. More flowing.
The name Flowtica came from exactly what we wanted the product to create:
flow.
The identity follows the same idea.
The W becomes a soft wave running through the typography. A small visual representation of work moving instead of getting stuck in folders, inboxes and conversations.
Professional enough for everyday work.
But not another painfully boring document-management brand.

Calm by design.
Document management is already about dealing with complexity. We didn’t want the visual identity to contribute more of it. Flowtica was designed to feel clean, calm, technical and straightforward.
The product could handle the mess.
The brand didn’t need to look like it.

What we explored.
Document management
One dedicated place for keeping documents organized rather than scattered across devices and communication tools.
Versioning
Keeping the history of a document together without creating another final_FINAL_2 file.
Tasks
Connecting work directly to the document it relates to.
Collaboration
Keeping comments, responsibilities and teamwork closer to the actual files.
Organization
Grouping documents so teams can find what they need without remembering exactly where somebody saved it.
What we worked on.
Naming
Creating Flowtica around the idea of bringing a better flow to document-heavy work.
Logo
Turning the W into a flowing wave and making movement part of the wordmark itself.
Visual identity
Creating a professional, calm and technical direction for the product.
Product concept
Exploring how documents, versions, tasks and collaboration could live together instead of being scattered across different tools.
Put everything around the document where the document is.
Flowtica started with a simple frustration: work doesn’t become messy because we create documents.
It becomes messy because of everything that happens to them afterwards.
Flowtica was our idea for cleaning that up.
